About My Clients
Questioning your belief system or processing negative experiences that occurred in religious or tight-knit social groups can be lonely. Those who speak up about their thoughts, feelings, and traumatic events within the community often feel shame, guilt, and isolation. Finding a confidante outside of your group is difficult because people, even professionals, do not always understand the culture you are coming from. This isolation often means you suffer quietly, feeling there is nowhere to turn.
My Background and Approach
As a former pastor’s kid within a fundamentalist culture, I understand many of the nuances in conservative cultures that others may find foreign or odd. This background, combined with a Master of Social Work, has led to my work with those who no longer fit within their religious or social community, and those who have been harmed by people within these systems.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Know that whatever your background or struggle, you will be accepted in my office. Therapy will be a collaborative experience where we work together to learn what helps you to heal, gain clarity, and move forward. My office is located at Oaktree Guidance and Wellness Center where I offer in-person and virtual sessions. I look forward to meeting you and hearing your story!
