About My Clients

My clients come to me because they’re tired of holding back in relationships and yearn for empowerment in shaping a life that truly reflects their own essence. Life can be challenging, especially when we grapple with societal pressures and the responsibilities of conforming to others’ expectations while trying to maintain genuine connections with friends and family. I also specialize in working with with Asian Americans and Filipino/a/x who struggle with the ongoing effects of colonialism.

My Background and Approach

My therapeutic approach is very much client-led and solution-focused. I've worked with clients of all ages who are experiencing grief/loss, anxiety, depression, identity conflicts and cultural issues. I do both talk therapy and art therapy. I specialize in using art as a means of expression when words fall short. She encourages clients to tap into their creative and playful sides, fostering a deeper connection to their identity. Through art, people can convey their innermost thoughts and emotions, driving positive change in their lives and relationships without necessarily verbalizing it. Specialties: Cultural Identity Issues (2nd Generation, immigrant families), Filipino/a/x Cultural Issues/Identity, Grief/Loss (terminal illnesses, break-ups), Life Transitions (parenthood, career, education), Peer Relationships /Attachment styles, Mindfulness based expressive arts therapy (stress and anxiety management), Communication skills/Boundary setting

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am a socially responsible practitioner who practices under a multicultural lens. In my therapy practice, I approach cases with a holistic view, identifying the intersections of my client's identity, lifestyle, and systemic influences so that we can collaborate on how to manage their mental health. I am a 2nd generation Filipina American and strive to decolonize psychology and Westernized viewpoints of counseling.
