About My Clients
Many of my clients have been told that they’re “too much”—too sensitive, too intense, too emotional. Or maybe they’ve had to hide parts of themselves away to get by. Trauma often makes you feel unsafe and weighed down by shame or overwhelming emotions. Together, we build safety, reduce shame, and find new ways to heal, grow, and feel more at home in yourself.
My Background and Approach
As both a psychologist and a trauma survivor, I know how powerful therapy can be. My style is real and down-to-earth—no masks, no shame. I use a mix of talk therapy and practical skills (like DBT) to help you manage emotions, heal from trauma, and create lasting change. I’ll always invite honest feedback so we can shape therapy into something that truly helps you feel safe, supported, and able to move forward.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe people have an incredible ability to change. We’re resilient, but sometimes the ways we’ve learned to cope just keep us stuck. Healing is about noticing what’s no longer working for you and finding new ways forward, even if it feels uncomfortable at first. I work with all kinds of trauma—systemic, generational, relational, and physical—and I invite real, open conversations about identity, spirituality, sexuality, and life’s big questions. I honor every identity and bring my own perspective as a Black, bisexual woman raised in a Black American Muslim community. In my work, I draw from both traditional and non-traditional approaches to support your whole self.
