About My Clients
I enjoy working with Neurodivergent individuals (age 3-99); Autism, ADHD, Anxiety, and Sensory Processing challenges. I partner with Autistic youth and adults to help them better understand their Authentic Self, explore strategies for self-preservation, and teach self-advocacy. I partner with parents to help them help their children be their best self. In addition, I offer trainings, consultation, workshops and classes for parents, educators, mental health providers, and the community.
My Background and Approach
Through trusting partnerships, I counsel, teach, guide, empower, and coach parents/caregivers and individuals to become independent successful adults, effective self-advocates, and confident parents. I hold a Master’s Degree in Special Education, hold a Washington State Counselor Certification and am Nationally Certified with PCIT International as a Parent-Child Interaction Therapist and Level 1 Trainer. I have worked in various roles working with individuals and families such as; a Special Education Teacher, Administrator, School Counselor, Behavior Specialist, life and career skills instructor, Family Therapist and Counselor for over 25 years. I have a passion for working with Neurodivergent individuals and families and I am dedicated to helping bring peace and possibilities to their home. I am also a proud parent of neurodivergent children!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe it truly takes a village to help our children, families, friends and professionals. And although there are many disciplines and "experts" in the field, I never forget that parents, and individuals are the first "expert". I help them explore their expertise and rely on that expertise to create individualized programs to help individuals and families succeed. Not only do I have 25 years of experience working within the Autistic Community, I am also a parent of neurodivergent teens, both active in the LGBTQ community. I use my experiences, as well as the experiences of the parents I work with, to teach other professionals and the community about the parent perspective of raising a neurodivergent child. I value Interprofessional Collaboration and advocating for the needs of children and families. I am dedicated to helping individuals, families, educators, and other professionals.
