About My Clients

I have experience working with individuals with anxiety, depression, trauma, personality disorders, relationship issues, and many other concerns. In addition to the clinical approaches I use, clients may expect to relate to situations using more personal connections such as literature, philosophy, or history. There are countless experiences across human history to compare and contrast to our own and it would be a shame to not learn from them.

My Background and Approach

Since starting my career as a therapist in 2017, I have worked with people from all walks of life. Using an eclectic style of therapy, I pull from different approaches to meet the needs and goals of each person. Several therapies I gravitate toward, including; Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Humanistic Therapy, and Existential Therapy; focus on open-ended discussions and encourage abstract thinking to shift perspectives or re-conceptualize difficult past events. In other instances, I may use a more structured approach using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to organize and track thoughts, feelings, and behaviors so we can better understand their interconnectedness to alleviate negative thoughts and emotions while increasing healthy behaviors. Underlying any approach is a culturally competent foundation of empathetic support.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

In my time working with patients, I have noticed two common denominators. Suffering and change. We all suffer in our own way. Wants we cannot have. Love that is unreciprocated. Thoughts that won’t leave us alone. These things are the inherent challenges of life. The magnitude of our suffering is matched only by the capacity we have for change. To change our mood. To change our way of thinking. To change the way we interact with others. To change the way we interact with ourselves. No matter the change, it starts with knowing it is possible and identifying the first step needed. Reach out today and we will take that first step. In session, you will have a safe place to process and learn how to cope with what is happening outside of session. You will be supported unconditionally. Together, we will work to better understand the changes that are needed to be the best version of yourself.
