About My Clients

I work with 20 and 30-something female-identifying folx who are struggling with sense of self, prioritizing themselves, and holding boundaries. These struggles leave you feeling anxious, self doubting, stuck in shame, and resentful. You fear that if you say "no" or ask for what you really want, you'll be seen as "selfish", needy, or too much... which is just not true. We work together to unlearn societal conditioning, heal childhood trauma, & connect with your body and inner authority.

My Background and Approach

I am trained in Somatic Experiencing, which is a beautiful, simple, and profoundly healing way of working with trauma. Trauma is something that overwhelms our nervous system and puts us into a survival mode. We either feel hypervigilant - anxious, stressed, panicky - or we feel shut down, overwhelmed, and stuck. With somatic trauma therapy, we practice tools to help you regulate your nervous system so that you can return to a state of presence, openness, and connectedness. We practice building your capacity to experience calm, presence, and joy. I also integrate attachment therapy into my work, working to create a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship together so that you can create secure friendships and relationships outside of therapy. Additionally, I am trained in IFS parts work, which helps us meet and befriend all the difference parts of who you are, and learn to take care of the vulnerable inner child.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that we live in a white supremacist, capitalist, patriarchal society that perpetuates sexism, racism, fatphobia, homophobia, transphobia and ablism onto all of us. These societal systems of oppression infiltrate into our institutions, communities, and family systems, and harm us in overt as well as subconscious ways. I believe that therapy and healing must take these systems of oppression into account, name and acknowledge the continual impact, and create a space for unlearning the beliefs that we have been conditioned to believe by society. I also believe that we are hurt in relationship and we heal in relationship. We are meant to depend on one another and be in community, as well as to be connected to Earth and nature. I am a big believer in the specific magic that can happen in the container of nature, and love to incorporate nature in therapy when possible.
