About My Clients
Becoming a parent can be extremely challenging, add on neurodiversity and the sensory overload that parenting inevitably brings, and it can be hard not to burn out. As a neurodivergent mother myself, I understand how hard it can be and how important finding the right support is. Welcome to my practice.
My Background and Approach
My approach is neurodivergent-affirming, warm, and insightful. This means that my primary aim as a therapist is to act as a compassionate guide during your process of self-discovery. We will focus on skill-building using evidence-based therapies such as ACT, DBT, CBT, and EMDR. I have been providing mental health care since 2006 and I am trained in the treatment of Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders by Postpartum Support International (PSI).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a neurodivergent homeschooling mom of two biracial/bicultural children living in the Bay Area. I value the environment, I try to live lightly and simply on the earth. I have always been focused on social justice issues and this has led me to sit on the Human Rights Commission in my county and intern with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. I met my partner in Rwanda while working in human rights advocacy. Black Lives Matter. Trans Lives Matter. I respect all people and I am committed to cultural humility.
