About My Clients
Many of my clients are thoughtful, capable adults who understand their patterns intellectually but still feel emotionally stuck. You may struggle with the effects of childhood or relationship trauma, painful memories, anxiety, emotional triggers, or difficulty feeling safe and connected. Perhaps you keep repeating patterns you cannot fully explain or change. I work best with people who are ready to understand what happened, process it at a deeper level, and build a life that is no longer organiz
My Background and Approach
I am a licensed therapist with more than 13 years of experience and over 20,000 hours of clinical work. I specialize in trauma therapy and EMDR, with extensive experience helping adults affected by childhood trauma, relationship wounds, attachment disruptions, anxiety, and deeply rooted emotional patterns. My approach is compassionate, focused, and collaborative. We begin by understanding how your experiences shaped the ways your mind and body learned to protect you. Before processing difficult memories, we establish the emotional regulation and internal resources necessary for the work to feel manageable. EMDR can help the brain reprocess experiences that continue to feel emotionally present, even when you know they belong to the past. Rather than repeatedly retelling every detail, we work with the memories, emotions, beliefs, and physical responses that keep old patterns active. My goal is not simply to reduce symptoms, but to help you experience greater freedom, safet
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe many of the patterns we judge most harshly in ourselves began as intelligent attempts to survive, adapt, or remain connected. Healing is not about treating you as broken. It is about understanding what your mind and body learned to do, honoring why those responses developed, and creating the safety needed for something new to become possible. As a Brazilian immigrant who has built a life across different countries and cultures, I value cultural humility and recognize that identity, family, relationships, and belonging shape how we experience the world. I strive to offer an affirming and respectful space for people of different backgrounds, cultures, identities, and relationship structures. I believe effective therapy should be both deeply human and grounded in responsible, evidence-informed care.
