About My Clients
Extensive experience working with trauma, substance use issues, behavioral/process addiction, depression, anxiety, grief, and other issues. However, psychotherapy is also to help us break free of the constraints of our past and live more authentically. In therapy together, as a collaborative team, we seek to get in touch with your deepest needs, develop your strengths, and unlock your full potential. I believe in the human potential for making meaning and growth out of suffering.
My Background and Approach
I've worked in the mental health treatment field for fifteen years, and train at the advanced level in Existential-Humanistic (EH) psychotherapy and Somatic Experiencing (SE). I also teach EH therapy and write on this approach for Psychology Today. EH helps you explore life's deeper questions—like who you are, what your purpose is, and how to live authentically. It combines two powerful perspectives: existential therapy, which explores how to find meaning and purpose in life, and humanistic therapy, which emphasizes personal growth and self-fulfillment. Together, these approaches guide you in transforming challenges like anxiety, guilt, and loneliness into opportunities for freedom/creativity, hope, and connection. Somatic Experiencing (SE) helps clients to heal from trauma and other issues. SE therapy is a body-focused approach to healing trauma and stress-related conditions. SE often focuses on how your body holds and processes stress and trauma.
