About My Clients
I work with adults and couples who feel overwhelmed, disconnected, emotionally exhausted, or stuck in patterns that are hard to change. Clients often come to therapy for anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship stress, communication concerns, boundaries, life transitions, or emotional overwhelm. In couples work, I support partners working to reduce conflict, rebuild emotional safety, improve communication, and reconnect.
My Background and Approach
My clinical work is grounded in trauma-informed care, emotional regulation, relational work, and evidence-based interventions. I draw from CBT, DBT-informed skills, Polyvagal-informed therapy, IFS-informed parts work, ERP when clinically appropriate, and Gottman-informed couples interventions. I believe therapy should be both supportive and practical. Sessions may include identifying patterns, understanding emotional and nervous system responses, strengthening coping skills, building boundaries, improving communication, and creating meaningful change. With couples, I focus on communication patterns, emotional safety, conflict repair, trust, intimacy concerns, and rebuilding connection. With individuals, I often focus on anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, self-worth, life transitions, and emotional overwhelm. Chelsea Reed-Lahey, M.A., LPC-Associate is supervised by Erin Alexander, LPC-S.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe people make sense in the context of what they have lived through. Therapy works best when clients feel respected, understood, and supported without judgment. I value curiosity, honesty, emotional safety, and practical change. Healing does not always mean becoming a different person. Sometimes it means understanding yourself more clearly, responding with more compassion, setting healthier boundaries, and feeling more grounded in your own life.
