About My Clients
I often work with adults navigating relationship challenges, parenting overwhelm, caregiving stress and grief/ life transitions. Therapy may involve exploring relationship patterns, strengthening communication and boundaries, processing/ integrating loss and change, and increasing self-compassion. Many clients develop a clearer understanding of themselves and greater confidence in moving forward.
My Background and Approach
Many of the people I work with are used to being the ones others rely on. They are caring, capable people who spend so much energy supporting others that there is little room left for themselves. As the founder of Half-Light Counseling, I recognize that building trust is everything. You are the expert in your own experience, so we take things at your pace with some gentle guidance along the way. My approach is collaborative, emotionally engaged, and focused on helping you make sense of your life in a way that feels honest and lasting. I'm not a traditionally neutral therapist, and my goal is to be as authentic as I invite you to be. Therapy is a partnership, and finding the right fit matters. My hope is to offer a space where you can set some of what you’re carrying down, reconnect with yourself, and find a little more room to breathe. Regardless of what brings you in, you deserve to be here. If it sounds like a fit, I look forward to connecting.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe therapy cannot be separated from the social and cultural realities that shape our lives. Experiences of racism, oppression, exclusion, and marginalization affect mental health in profound ways, and I strive to create a space where people of all identities feel respected, affirmed, and supported. My own commitment to anti-racism and equity work began with confronting bias and privilege within myself and recognizing how much there is to unlearn. That process remains ongoing. I approach this work with humility, curiosity, and a commitment to continued growth. I affirm LGBTQIA+ individuals and strive to provide a culturally responsive, anti-racist space where conversations about identity, power, and belonging are welcomed. I don't believe therapy should ask people to leave parts of themselves at the door. My hope is to offer a space where you can show up fully as yourself and be met with care, dignity, and respect.
