About My Clients

I work with people of all races, genders, sexualities, ages, body sizes, and abilities. I specialize in working with women identified, non-binary and queer people to rewrite the stories we have been told, and tell ourselves, about our self-power, lovability, competence, beauty, bodies, and societal worth. I am passionate about supporting those who have experienced anxiety, depression, social oppression and internalized oppression, grief and loss, or trauma of any kind.

My Background and Approach

I believe everyone has expertise from lived experience. Everyone has profound gifts to offer. Part of my work with clients is to shine a light on the wisdom they already possess, and to support individuals to bring those gifts fully into the world. For years, I have worked in the field of community based social work, supporting dialogue and action for racial, economic, housing, and food justice. In 2019, I earned my M.A. at the Process Work Institute in Portland, Oregon. Process Work is a highly impactful and transformative style of therapy that supports people to make meaning from all of life's most disturbing experiences. As a survivor of my mother’s suicide, I have personally found the framework and methods of Process Work to be profoundly healing. I offer affordable, sliding-scale sessions because I believe that we need to break the silence and stigma that surrounds our mental health struggles. Everyone should have access to professional and affordable mental healthcare.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

No matter the horrors one has experienced, I sincerely believe healing is possible. I find inspiration from the people-led social movements that show us that revolutionary change processes begin with those on the margins. We all deserve healing, and we are stronger together. For many of us, there is a profound element of healing that is only accessible through relationship. Sharing personally with a caring witness can be a powerful step to healing traumas and heartbreak - especially when we have been hurt in relationship. As a therapist, I feel honored to connect with my clients in this way. I believe that the work we do to grow self-compassion and deepen our awareness as individuals also supports the wellbeing of those around us, including family, friends, coworkers, and our greater communities. When I am not supporting clients, I'm likely clowning around with my dog, Lunchbox, learning to play electric guitar, or telling a friend about some amazing podcast I listened to.
