About My Clients
Do you feel weighed down by stress, depression, or unresolved trauma? Maybe you’ve turned to substances to cope, or maybe you’re just exhausted from feeling stuck. You may be a veteran, first responder, or someone simply trying to manage life’s pressures. I understand what it’s like to carry that heaviness and wonder if things can truly change. Counseling can provide tools to manage pain, restore balance, and help you move from merely surviving to fully thriving.
My Background and Approach
I’m a veteran and retired first responder who has personally navigated addiction and long-term recovery, which inspired me to become a mental health counselor. I help individuals facing stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, or life transitions—sometimes alongside addiction—using evidence-based interventions. These include cognitive-behavioral techniques to challenge unhelpful thinking, motivational interviewing to strengthen commitment to change, mindfulness and grounding exercises to manage stress, structured coping strategies for emotion regulation, and relapse prevention planning to support sustained recovery. Drawing from both professional and lived experience, especially with veterans and first responders, I provide a compassionate, supportive, and structured space for healing. Together, we focus on practical tools, personal insight, and skill-building to help clients move from merely surviving to truly thriving, reclaiming balance, resilience, and a sense of purpose in their life
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe you have the capacity to heal, grow, and reclaim your life, no matter how heavy stress, trauma, or addiction may feel. Your struggles are not a sign of weakness—they are a signal that support, guidance, and faith can help you move forward. Drawing from my experience as a veteran, retired first responder, and someone in long-term recovery, I provide practical, evidence-based tools like cognitive-behavioral strategies, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and relapse prevention planning, all within a compassionate, faith-informed framework. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can explore challenges, develop insight, and build lasting coping skills. I believe that change is always possible when you are ready to engage, and I am committed to walking alongside you as you move from merely surviving to truly thriving, finding balance, purpose, and renewed hope in your life.
