About My Clients

I work collaboratively with my clients to help them overcome their anxiety and the effects it is having on their daily lives. You might feel as though you have difficulty managing your emotions, a sense of self-doubt that gets in the way of decision making or trouble setting clear boundaries in relationships with others. It could also be an awareness that you are engaging in the same patterns over and over again and aren’t sure how to make the necessary changes to break free from them.

My Background and Approach

I use a variety of therapeutic techniques when working with clients and tailor my style to fit the individual needs of my clients. I believe that you are your own expert and that the therapeutic alliance or relationship between therapist and client as well as the relationship that you have with yourself are the most important agents for change. A big part of how I approach therapy is to help you reconnect your brain to whats happening inside your body, attuning you to yourself so that you can be that long-term support for yourself in the future. Our bodies often hold on to memories and traumatic experiences in different ways than our brains do.These unresolved emotions oftentimes present themselves as physical symptoms; anxiety, a feeling of being stuck, panic, irritability and more. Once we are able to express those emotions and heal that connection between body and brain you can find more calm, centeredness, and also confidence in your life and in yourself.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that relationships and connection are a key element to growth and healing. Sometimes, relationships we've had in the past, or the relationship we've had with ourselves can lead to us developing learned behaviors that at one time were protective but have become harmful. I understand that a compassionate and understanding environment can be the most important agent for change in therapy and I work hard to create that environment for my clients. Given the right tools, support and insight, I believe that anyone can grow and change. I consider myself an ally to the BIPOC and LGBTQ communities and work hard to unpack and work through my own privilege and biases in my daily life.
