About My Clients

An ideal client for me is someone who is willing to commit to weekly therapy sessions. My client may have work-related stress, men's related issues, relationship discord, high anxiety working in competitive professional settings, depression, and self-esteem related issues. The goals will discussed individually, therapy is not cookie-cutter, each person is different and unique to their issues and their level of malcontent. Largely, my clients want to feel better.

My Background and Approach

In my practice I utilize many different approaches, modalities, and theories, as well as knowledge and wisdom gained from personal life experiences. As a foundation, I employ an Existential stance with a postmodern approach, and a generalist stance which is drawing on a variety of skills based on the clients’ needs such as depression, anxiety and relationship conflicts of all types. The Existential approach asserts people experience intrapsychic conflict due to their interaction with certain conditions inherent in human existence. In other words, a person has discord in their life either related to the world around them, extrinsically, or within, intrinsically. For example, differences with one's boss, struggles with coworkers, relational issues, problems with your teenager; anxiety, depression & PTSD. I am also a licensed Substance Use Disorder Professional, I implement a harm reduction approach to combat the tricky and powerful disease of addiction.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I do not think people are limited to growth and change. A person that exhibits a willingness to see me for psychotherapy and proceeds with honesty has everything to gain. People largely limit self based on poor messaging from family of origin, or contributors, all of which can alter a sense of self and ultimately a person's identity. Who am I? Are you really who you are? Through conversation and a collaborative approach the method of self as an instrument, opens doors to paradoxes that can plague us with insufferable anxiety and depression. It is by this approach that you will discover who you are, all of it, and not in a binary, good and bad way. But more so in a way that accepts all part of you as you, and if some part of you is disturbing you, or causing problems, we can work on that. I believe as we build trust you and I can do amazing work, I am confident in my skills, and I am confident that if you are willing and honest, there is NO limit to what can be achieved.
