About My Clients
I hold a deep understanding of the pressures and stressors one can experience when navigating through life and how it affects the various social relationships along the way. Whether you are seeing me on your own or with your loved one(s), I will support you in discovering your voice and strengths, while becoming more confident working through personal changes that come with their own challenges but also opportunities.
My Background and Approach
My past experiences have shaped my journey toward becoming a therapist. Originally from Germany, I have worked and studied in Los Angeles for the past 18 years. All of it has sparked my curiosity of cultures and its people. I first explored the field of Anthropology for my undergraduate studies to better understand cultures and social systems. This set off a deeper need to find out about us, the individuals who need to navigate through the given culture. I finished my masters in Clinical Psychology in March of 2019 and have been practicing as a therapist at Southern California Counseling Center since March of 2018. There, I have completed the training for individual, family, and couples counseling as well as a course in sex therapy. In addition, I am an intake coordinator for The Abuse Prevention Program (TAPP) where I facilitate a domestic violence group. I am trained in the Trauma Resiliency Model®, the Community Resiliency Model®, and in attachment-focused EMDR®.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
All of these factors are influencing how I work with you in the room as I can borrow from a wide range of ideas and techniques, including evidence-based practices, to better support you in your healing process in a collaborative, creative, and gentle way.
