About My Clients
I specialize in couples work, helping partners to find their way back to each other. If conversations with your partner seem to go in circles, and you have the same argument endlessly, I imagine you're feeling frustrated to say the least, maybe even despairing and panicked. You're wondering "are we going to make it?" Therapy offers a safe opportunity to slow it all down and to learn more about your emotions and clarify your needs. Together, we work to rebuild closeness, security and confidence.
My Background and Approach
I am a fully licensed social worker, trained in level 2 emotionally-focused therapy, which is an evidence-based approach that is widely considered the gold standard for couples therapy (and is also used in individual psychotherapy). EFT is an experiential form of therapy that gives each partner the space to explore and understand their own emotional landscape. When we are clear about our own emotions, we gain confidence in connecting with our partners, identifying our needs, and finding security with one another.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone (everyone!) deserves safe, secure relationships and the opportunity to process their lived human experience without judgment. I strive to live this value in each moment in my practice. Hypothesis Counseling is an LGBTQ+ affirming practice.
