About My Clients
Dr. Kreiter specializes in working with adults, adolescents, and families who struggle with eating disorders, anxiety and mood disorders, OCD, and experiences of trauma. Often, her clients are navigating challenging life circumstances or have identified something causing distress or interfering with their goals.
My Background and Approach
Dr. Kreiter earned her doctoral degree in clinical psychology at the PGSP-Stanford PsyD Consortium and completed her postdoctoral residency at Kaiser Permanente Redwood City. She provides evidence-based treatment for individuals, families, and groups. She integrates Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with a primarily cognitive behavioral (CBT) framework. She practices from a weight-inclusive, Health At Every Size (HAES)® perspective to support clients in healing their relationships with food, body, and self. She has specialized training in Family Based Treatment (FBT) for eating disorders, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and TEAM-CBT, and uses these modalities to help clients get “unstuck” and grow.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Dr. Kreiter's approach is warm, empathetic, and focused on behavioral changes, growth, and solutions. She recognizes that participating in therapy takes courage, and emphasizes collaboration while tailoring treatment to each individual and family, understanding that every client is an expert on their unique experiences and that therapy is a partnership.
