About My Clients

Many adults eventually reach a point at which strategies that once helped manage stress, professional demands, and relationships no longer feel as effective. This experience often begins in subtle ways: lying awake at night replaying conversations from the day, becoming preoccupied with anticipated outcomes or worst-case scenarios, or finding it difficult to fully disconnect from work during personal time.

My Background and Approach

Psychotherapy provides a structured and confidential space to examine these patterns and develop more adaptive ways of responding. In practice, therapy combines structured skill development with deeper examination of the patterns that shape how you think, feel, and relate to others. My clinical orientation is organized around an integrative cognitive-behavioral framework. Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is an empirically supported approach that explores the relationships among thoughts, emotions, and behavior. In session, we work together to identify cognitive patterns, examine underlying assumptions, and develop more adaptive ways of responding aligned with your goals and values. Therapy here may also include reflective exploration of longer-standing emotional and relational patterns that influence present-day experiences. This integrative perspective allows the work to address both immediate challenges and the broader patterns that maintain them over time.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York State with nearly two decades of experience across psychotherapy, community practice, education, and research. Over the course of my career, I have had the privilege of working with more than a thousand individuals navigating a wide range of life circumstances and challenges. My early academic training in architecture, urban planning, and sociology shaped a sustained interest in how people inhabit their lives—how environments, relationships, and internal frameworks influence the ways we think, feel, and make decisions. I often meet people at a time when they are looking not only for symptom relief, but for a more comprehensive understanding of themselves and more durable, intentional ways of engaging with their lives. If this approach aligns with what you’re looking for, a brief consultation offers an opportunity to determine whether working together would be a good fit.
