About My Clients
I tend to work well with (in no particular order): busy people, those who work in and around the tech industry, those who work in other careers that require organization and an analytical ability, high achievers, those who want therapy to be actionable and usable. The issues that I best serve: relationship problems, anxiety, depression, trauma, work-life balance, stress, anger management, and family conflict.
My Background and Approach
I strive to bring genuineness, humor and warmth into the therapy room, but you deserve even more than that. As a former attorney originating from a purely logical mindset, I utilize science-based and evidence-based approaches to generate practical tools to use in your everyday life. Trained in the PACT model of couples therapy, which draws upon insights from neuroscience and attachment theory, I help couples replace frustrating, repetitive patterns of conflict with mutual responsiveness and alleviation of distress. With Attachment-Focused EMDR, together we can heal the impact of critical or dismissive parenting, loss, and persistent conflict in existing relationships. Whether we’re drawing from CBT, mindfulness-based practices, attachment theory or other models, my goal is to help you get to know yourself better, communicate more effectively, strengthen your relationships and better navigate the work world.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I volunteer on a weekly basis as part of a very large organization in San Francisco whose mission includes building community and inspiring activism on behalf of the LGBTQ community. I am an active member and former Board Member At-Large of Gaylesta, the Psychotherapist Association for Gender and Sexual Diversity. My work as a psychotherapist is informed by my deep belief that we are all equal, we are all deserving of love and respect, and we all deserve to be happy, regardless of what we look like, what pronouns we use, or whom we love.
