About My Clients
Common experiences my clients share include parentification, identifying boundaries, communication skills, and stress management techniques due to family, school, or work stress. I specialize working with adults with relationship issues, identity issues, depression, anxiety, and any traumatic event that has occurred in their life.
My Background and Approach
My work is Trauma-Informed, Healing Centered, Culturally Competent, Somatic/Body-Based, LGBTQIA2+ affirming, operated from a Harm Reduction Model, and evidence-based. I utilize techniques drawn from Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Polyvagal Theory, Somatic Therapy, Feminist Theory, Humanistic, Existentialism, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and beyond.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in treating the whole person by considering mental and social factors, rather than just the symptoms of a disease. I believe we are all experts of our life but sometimes we need guidance to rediscover our balance. I am a first-gen immigrant, eldest daughter from Jalisco, Mexico who has done her own trauma work and healing. I will never ask my clients to do something I have not tried or done myself. Let’s have a conversation about what kind of life you want for yourself. Or, if you don’t know, that’s totally fine. Even knowing what you don’t want is a great place to start. Either way, I can help.
