About My Clients
My clients are primarily veterans/trauma survivors, and often experience co-occurring issues with depression and maladaptive substance use. Many have tried numerous avenues to feel better, and feel discouraged and exhausted. Ketamine is an invaluable tool that accelerates and expands on the efficacy of the other modalities that I offer. Healing that may have taken months, can now happen in weeks when ketamine is offered safely in the office.
My Background and Approach
I have extensive training and 20+ years of experience working with trauma survivors. In addition to the general population, I've been working with veterans since 2009. I rely on a wide range of interventions but most often utilize ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP), EMDR, internal family systems (IFS), and somatic therapy. I'm also a certified yoga instructor, and am trained to provide trauma-informed yoga therapy for relief of mental health symptoms. I incorporate a holistic approach to wellness in my work with clients of all health and fitness backgrounds. My primary objective is fostering warmth and compassion, and for clients to achieve the most possibility and fulfillment in their lives. I also rely on my sense of humor because laughter can be one of the most effective tools for healing. Therapy can be challenging, but it can also be fun.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
The term psychedelic means mind-manifesting. I believe that mental health treatment, at its best, is psychedelic. Ketamine has been demonstrated to rapidly ease symptoms of conditions like PTSD and depression. Unlike regular medications, it acts on a brain chemical called glutamate, which affects mood. Ketamine quickly boosts connections between nerve cells, possibly reversing changes from chronic stress or depression. This fast response can provide relief when other treatments fail. In short, ketamine helps the brain make better connections, which enhances therapy interventions and kickstarts the brain's healing process.
