About My Clients

Do you struggle to get out of bed but at the same time struggle with racing thoughts that never seem to stop? Do the smallest tasks seem impossible to do? I get it! I really do! It's like pressing the pedal to the metal & slamming the breaks at the same time..depression and anxiety. Fortunately, there is hope and you can have relief! You do not have to live this way anymore. I help clients daily overcome depression and anxiety through many different techniques.

My Background and Approach

Some areas of my experience include depression, anxiety, substance abuse/addiction, eating disorders, mood disorders, trauma, obsessive-compulsive behaviors, grief and anger management. I enjoy working with a broad spectrum of clients ranging from adolescents to older adults. I obtained my master's degree from Webster University and completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Tennessee with a bachelor's degree in Psychology. I use various therapeutic techniques unique to each client. I use different approaches to address client personalities and areas of concern in order to achieve the desired improvement and growth in those areas. I empower my clients with the skills to develop new thinking patterns and change undesirable behaviors through a variety of methods best for them. As your counselor, I seek to provide a safe and trustworthy environment for you to openly share your feelings and reach your goals together in a united effort.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that we all have core beliefs about ourselves deeply ingrained about how we view or internalize ourselves and the world around us. Unfortunately, some of us can develop negative beliefs due to a multitude of reasons: our upbringing, surroundings, environment, past AND present relationships and/or circumstances. Whatever the cause may be is irrelevant in my opinion, but what IS important is how these beliefs significantly effect our interpersonal relationships and how we interpret the world around us. If we have low self-esteem or negative core beliefs then it's as though we view everything through a negative lens. The GOOD NEWS is once you determine your negative core beliefs, you gain insight into distorted thinking patterns thus bringing awareness of how harmful they really may be to you, the better off you are! Most are walking around not paying attention to the automatic negative thoughts (ANTS) around us and that's when they can be dangerous! Therapy is a lot of fun!
