Burnt-out, overwhelmed, stressed, utterly exhausted, it feels like effort to read all this. Life demands A LOT of energy just to function daily. Having a place set aside for you to show-up in whatever mood, energy level or mind state can feel like a refuge from daily obligations. Reprieve allows for focus, recalibration, and grounding.
My Background and Approach
My specialties are what helped me in my own healing process. Expressive Arts, EMDR, IFS (parts work), somatic and polyvagal integrative work assists clients who have experienced trauma, have been diagnosed with c-PTSD, PTSD, anxiety and depression in the comfort on their own home. No need to retell the story of past traumas like traditional talk therapy. No artistic ability or special equipment is required. My integrative approach is suitable for telehealth. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Trauma, grief and loss has profound impact on our wellbeing, while understandable, this should not be pathologized, doing so has lead to the stigma in mental health we see today. We have been conditioned to ask "what is wrong with you?" when we should be asking "what happened to you?" We truly have been asking the wrong question because it has become culturally normalized. I highly recommend "The Myth of Normal: Trauma, Illness & Healing in a Toxic Culture" by Dr Gabor Mate, "What Happened To You? Conversations on Trauma, Resilience and Healing" by Dr Bruce Perry, and "It Didn't Start With You: How Inherited Trauma Shapes Who We Are and How to End the Cycle."
