About My Clients
You are not overreacting; you are not being too sensitive or dramatic. Life will continuously produce new challenges and difficulties, so the goal is to better face those challenges with composure while making the decisions that are best for you. Therapy can be a source of creativity, relief and progression for those who choose to engage in it. With all of the changes that take place in our lives, therapy can be a way to sort out your life experiences and make a path that works for you.
My Background and Approach
My goal is to use evidence-based techniques to give you practical tools to help you. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, codependency issues, or any other concern, each session you will leave with at least one thing to work on which is designed to help you towards your goals. We will begin with talking about you, your life experiences, and your concerns in order to find the best approach to help you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that many people, and those in underserved communities in particular, have been taught to keep things in house and not air their dirty laundry, this has resulted in us being unable to healthily express our emotions, being unable to recognize abuse and left us with poor coping skills. Counseling and therapy alone is not a cure all, but a tool to use to help improve our coping skills, help us to break the generational curses which we see around us and help us create the lives that we want.
