About My Clients
I specialize in working with people of color, particularly those who are children of immigrants or multi-generational Americans, addressing everyday stress related to cultural values, familial relationships, and societal expectations. My therapeutic approach integrates person-centered and trauma-informed modalities with a lens of cultural humility. My goal is to create a safe, warm, and supportive space where you can process your experiences and gain deeper self-understanding.
My Background and Approach
As a second-generation Filipina-American born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, I am deeply connected to my roots as a daughter of immigrants. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over a decade of experience in the mental health field. My professional journey includes working in diverse environments such as intensive in-home services, outpatient clinics, and school-based settings. Throughout my career, I have worked with adults, youth, and families from different walks of life. My experience includes supporting children of immigrants, community activists and organizers, neurodivergent youth, individuals in foster care or transitioning post-adoption, and youth involved in the juvenile legal system.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
When I’m not in the therapy room, I focus on networking with various organizations to enhance resource accessibility and foster community connections. I currently serve as the Community Engagement Director for Therapin*y. I also conduct mental health workshops for organizations and universities, aiming to destigmatize mental health and promote effective self-care. My work is deeply rooted in creating positive social impact and driving sustainable change within communities. My passion for hearing people’s stories and understanding their diverse experiences continually inspires and guides my efforts with both clients and the broader community.
