About My Clients
Sometimes life presents us with unpredictable obstacles that leave us with uncertainty about who we are and why we do what we do. These periods of life can feel uncertain and unbearable. They can also be some of the most transformative times of our lives. Therapy can offer creative ways to help you understand your experiences, your relationships, and your Self in a new lens. I love working with people who are curious and open to learning and growing from what life sends their way.
My Background and Approach
My style as a therapist is eclectic, curious, warm, and direct. I have been working as a therapist for over 5 years and have experience with working with people who have many different life experiences, identities, interests, and challenges. My practice is trauma-informed, strengths based, and person-centered. Each person is unique and it is my belief that each client is approached from a place of openness and creativity. Therapy is a gift to yourself and it is critical to healing that your needs and goals are the priority. I draw from attachment theory, feminist theory, relational theory, and internal family systems to guide my work. Additionally, I have background in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Theory(CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Theory(DBT). From a place of collaboration and warmth, I will work with you to navigate life’s obstacles, meet your challenges, and take steps towards being your most authentic self.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
It is impossible to understand who we are as individuals without acknowledging the ways that we are impacted by the systems in which we exist. In my life as a counselor and as an individual, I strive to better understand and recognize how they impact us as individuals. Intersectionality and equity are always at the foundation of my framework and my understanding of individual experience.
