I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist Individual (CCTSI) and use EMDR and somatic-based interventions in my practice. I often incorporate somatic, body-based interventions because we store our trauma not just in our minds, but in the tissues of the body. I have experience working with the Atlanta refugee community for migration-related trauma. I also have experience working in private practice with clients overcoming sexual abuse and assault.

I have experience working within the refugee community, which is where my passion for helping people find freedom from the past began. I incorporate the body into trauma therapy, focusing on regulating the nervous system and connecting with the present moment through the senses. I also help clients explore beliefs that have become a part of their identity and challenge these beliefs with true, empowering beliefs to re-write their own narrative. I use EMDR and tapping techniques.

I believe that basing therapy on your personal experience is the most empowering and effective approach to create lasting change. I will recognize and highlight your innate strengths and help you build skills and tools that work best for you. Focusing on practical needs real results is always a priority in my practice.

I believe every person knows on some level what they need and the steps they need to take to find healing or create change. Each person also knows what they are ready to address past traumas or current struggles. I respect each person's process and knowledge of themselves and experiences. Sometimes simply having a place to process our emotions, explore our inner workings, and affirm our experiences lead to breakthroughs.

Finding peace within the chaos of our own minds and bodies is not easy. This process begins with regulating the body's response to anxiety and stress and deepens as relationship dynamics and experiences from the past that led to this response are explored. Replacing the stories that have been learned over the years with a new narrative and self-talk will result in more freedom from anxiety.

The impacts of our culture and society on our experiences as women are always at the forefront of my mind when interacting with each person that sits across from me during therapy sessions. I look for ways to empower and affirm everyone in my practice to push back against these pressures to have a strong identity or become advocates and allies for the women in their lives.

Mindfulness can help create a sense of peace and connectedness to our inner selves, bodies, and surroundings that we often lose in our modern lifestyle. I love to help my clients connect with the present to find more meaning, joy, and healing within their lives.
