About My Clients
You feel like you’re at the bottom of your to-do list. You’re struggling in school, transitions, your relationships, and your job. You’re anxious, maybe a bit depressed, and you're having trouble finding the motivation to put your needs first. You have past trauma you thought you had stuffed away but lately, it’s been creeping back up. I get it. I've been there. I’m here to help you create positive change in your life, alleviate pain from the past, and live an authentic life.
My Background and Approach
Through my own personal experiences and my years of working with individuals, families, and children, I have found that many people just want to be seen and heard. They hold secrets, shame, and guilt but aren’t sure where to place it all. I create a safe and inviting space for you to tell your stories, truths, and fears so we can identify the patterns that you have been enacting and bust through them, for good. I use cognitive-behavioral approaches to help you understand your anxiety and how to replace those worry-filled thoughts or break through your depression with positive, healthy routines. I'll help you reframe your story through narrative work. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) which helps with processing past events to reduce the trauma triggers, anxiety, depression, and rebuild confidence you lost.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a multiracial woman, I struggled early on with figuring out where I "fit in." As such, I don't like boxes, and I won't put you in one. I have a background in and passion for special needs education and advocacy. I don't discriminate, but am well aware that racism and discrimination are alive in our world, and as such, pain, fear, and oppression are consequences of it. I'm an LGBTQI+ ally. I also believe ice cream and sunsets at the beach are good for the soul.
