About My Clients

I specialize in working with LGBTQIA+ clients, specifically those who identify as transgender and nonbinary. Many of my clients seek therapy to process and heal from trauma, acquire more effective coping skills in all aspects of their lives, and gain a greater understanding and acceptance of themselves and their journeys. I enjoy working with those who are neurodivergent and struggle with society’s allistic and ableist expectations.

My Approach to Helping

My approach to therapy is eclectic but has its foundations in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Care. I implement an anti-capitalist and anti-oppressive framework in my practice and believes it is important to look at the systemic factors that play a role in one’s life. My therapeutic style is warm, humorous, and affirming. I am passionate about making mental health care accessible and safe for all individuals. In my free time, I enjoy cross stitching and embroidery, hanging out with my cats, playing video games, and reading. **For those looking to use OON benefits: You may be able to get partially reimbursed for therapy, check here: app.zaya.health/p/2a2wgH3znSbIqfbkYuOg

Why I Became a Therapist

I became a therapist to help others as most people do, but as I continue on my own mental health and educational (outside of academia) journey, I realize that "helping" is not enough. I am here to help my clients understand that there is much more to mental health than ourselves as individuals. It is important to take a look at the bigger picture, which includes our society and other external factors, such as capitalism, individualistic culture, socioeconomic status, gender, race, ethnicity, etc., that contributes to our place in the world. While our mental health journeys are individualistic and personal, how the world sees and treats us plays a huge role in how we see and treat ourselves.
