About My Clients

Are you going through something that others do not seem to get or understand? Does a feeling of being misunderstood and invalidation from others seems to pervade your life? Do you often feel as though you are doing everything you can, but still feel your actions are misjudged by others? Do you often find that people do not take the time to actually listen to you? Maybe you feel like what you are experiencing is interfering with your life. Time and time again you are not able to find relief.

My Background and Approach

At the core of depression, trauma, and grief is a person. You are worthy of time, understanding, relief, and validation. You deserve to be listened to and taken seriously. Through a combination of authentic connection and trauma informed interventions, therapy can be a life-changing experience. I like using an eclectic approach and will often integrate many other trauma informed interventions in the therapy process. I have been trained in Motivational Interviewing, TF-CBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). I received my Bachelors in Psychology from Lincoln Memorial University and my Masters in Education with a specialization in Mental Health Counseling from Lindsey Wilson College. I am currently an LPC-MHSP (Licensed Professional Counselor with Mental Health Service Provider designation) in the state of Tennessee.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am a human person, which means that I make mistakes, cuss, care too much, and have days where I do not feel that I can do anything right. Believe it or not, it has taken the perfectionist in me a long time to learn that I'm okay and to be okay with it. I am a survivor of narcissistic abuse and complex trauma in many different forms. Through therapy, I have been able to discover hidden things about myself. Some of which aren't all sunshine and rainbows, and some that are indeed covered in brightly colored unicorn fairy dust. I also believe that music has saved my life in so many ways, and too many times to count. Learning about myself has been a lifelong process. My personal journey, training, and education has allowed me to learn ways that I can help others just like you.
