Art Therapist in Frederick, MD
Supervised by Diana Sabados, LCPAT, LCPC
My way of working is a relational one that views therapy as a collaborative experience in which the relationship between client and therapist greatly contributes to healing. Through the therapeutic relationship work can be done to heal, maintain, or create fulfilling relationships with others in your life. Having healthy relationships and connections supports overall emotional well-being
I believe in the healing power of nature. Quite often in the rush of modern life we forget that humans are a part of nature. Reconnecting to our environment provides space for grounding, mindfulness, reflection, and curiosity. All of which contribute to healing! As I gain more experience and training in ecotherapy, I will incorporate even more aspects of nature into therapy sessions. I plan on offering Walk & Talk (& Create!) therapy in the future.
I have a masters degree in art therapy and am a licensed graduate professional art therapist. "Art therapy is an integrative mental health and human services profession that enriches the lives of individuals, families, and communities through active art-making, creative process, applied psychological theory, and human experience within a psychotherapeutic relationship." -American Art Therapy Association
