My Background and Approach
I am trained as a counselor and an art therapist. Depending on your need, sessions may be more traditional talk therapy focused, or we might choose to incorporate some artistic expression. The addition of art-making can provide an alternative way to communicate, gain insight, and relax. Whether talking or creating, I work from a trauma-informed perspective while integrating experiential, relational, and strengths-based approaches. What does that all mean? It means that therapy is a collaborative experience in which the connection and relationship between client and therapist is of utmost importance. This relationship creates the space where growth and change may occur. It also means that I will serve as a guide and support for you on your path to healing and well being.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone has the ability to heal and grow given the proper support and a safe environment. We are all on a journey to discover our true selves and cultivate a fulfilling life. True connection nourishes this journey -- connection to others, to self, to body, to environment.
