About My Clients
I have over 7 years of clinical experience working with diverse populations in non-profit and University settings, including minors, couples, college students, and adults, as well as people of different races and ethnicities. I specializes in working with adults and couples looking for practical steps toward personal growth and improved relationships.
My Background and Approach
I graduated with my Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Valdosta State University. I am also a Certified Advanced Teacher of the Enneagram Spectrum Method. I believe that in therapy, clients can utilize the Enneagram to gain insight about their experiences and relationships, empowering them to make sense of their story. By combining the Enneagram with my systemic therapy framework, I help clients find the strength within themselves to reclaim their story in a way that is both holistic and life changing. I worked in non-profit organizations for four years, helping children, adolescents, and families. I then worked at Florida State University for two years helping college students, before joining Mosaic Creative Counseling. From those years I have learned that people are often unaware of how much power and control they have in their life, so I try to help them find that so they can improve their life with their own strengths and resources.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My biggest belief as a therapist is the client is the expert of their life. I have great clinical skills and can generate insight, but I do not know what the inner experience of a client is. My role is to help clients better understand themselves so that we can work together to develop ways to manage current stressors. I myself have worked with a professional to better understand my anger and perfectionistic tendencies in my personal life. I am not an active member of any specific movements socially or politically, but I do think many groups of people get their voices restricted or ostracized and in my office, that won't happen. I think the best time of year is from March to June, when basketball is at its peak, we have more daylight, and the weather is warmer but not too hot. I also love the MCU and Avatar: the Last Airbender.
