My Background and Approach
After completing two years of AmeriCorps as a young adult, I was inspired to pursue a career in helping others build capacity for change in their lives. I earned a Master’s of Science in Social Work (MSSW) from the University of Texas at Austin in 2008. Since 2008, I have fulfilled varied interests as a Social Worker in the Austin area. These various experiences provided a diverse and strong framework for my therapy philosophy, practice and values. Therapeutic modalities include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Mindfulness, Motivational interviewing, Patient Centered, Strengths-Based, Relational Therapy, Solution Focused, Trauma Informed Care.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I see my role as a therapist as guiding you to find self-compassion, capacity, change, resiliency wherever you are in life. I'm a straight cis female that is accepting and inclusive to all. I spend my time with my spouse and cat. My hobbies include walking, birding, identifying flora and fauna, traveling, listening to music, camping, cooking and spending time with friends and family.
