Hi, I'm Sahra. I specialize in helping people improve their relationships with themselves, their bodies, and others.
Counselor in Pennsylvania
Difficult relationships with food can take many forms and often individuals who are hurting don't receive the help they need because they don't fit the typical anorexia/bulimia diagnoses or aren't "underweight." I have a special interest in supporting atypical eating related issues including binge eating, emotional eating, & mens' eating disorders. I practice using principles from the Health at Every Size® model including intuitive eating and joyful movement.
Regardless of what behavior my clients come in to treat, the thing they most often have in common is difficult experiences. We all want to feel better, but don't always do it in ways that keep us healthy and safe. I have a decade of training and experience in treating individuals who have experienced trauma including physical, sexual, and emotional abuse. I also have a special interest in supporting survivors of narcissistic abuse and adult children of alcoholics.
I have studied and treated sexual behavior concerns including compulsive pornography use/pornography addiction, sex as coping, love addiction, infidelity, compulsive masturbation, and unwanted fantasies for a decade. I practice from a sex-positive, client-led orientation which means no judgements (ever!) and you set the pace. In addition to my work with problematic sexual behaviors, I also have extensive training and experience treating sexual abuse and unwanted sexual experiences.
