My Background and Approach

After having gone through my own life challenges as well as working with women for 30+ years, facing some truths about our lives can stir up tremendous discomfort and resistance. Life changes, transitions, and losses that are natural occurrences throughout our lifetimes can often lead to a state of depression, anxiety and stagnation, leaving us paralyzed to live life to its fullest. Using Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, my approach to treatment draws from Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioral therapies to help individuals get in touch with themselves from an introspective point of view. Learning to identify what you want, first, will be extremely helpful in building the road to get there. With an emphasis on challenging the thoughts that interfere with attracting what we want into our lives, you will begin to unravel unhealthy thinking patterns learned in the past and substitute them with more positive and constructive ones that are guaranteed to move you forward.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

From my own personal experience, I believe that challenges in our lives through natural life transitions are necessary for our personal and spiritual growth. Despite the symptoms of anxiety and depression these challenges can cause, when we learn through difficult situations and understand the meaning they provide in our lives, our self esteem, self confidence and resiliency can strengthen resulting in a greater sense of purpose and awareness. I often recommend specific books to help my clients open themselves to the opportunities that challenging life transitions offer. These include: The Secret Rhonda Byrne The Four Agreements Don Miguel Ruiz A Course in Life A Course in Love Joan Gattuso The Power of Forgiveness The Power of Your Spirit Sonia Choquette Therapy is a journey and a process that can lead to a higher sense of self, purpose, and happiness and I look forward to being a part of that journey!
