About My Clients
I serve men and women, usually but not always in age range of 18-60. Through this work, we become a team, understanding and resolving anxiety, body issues, relational disconnection and other traumas. I provide tools and skills to use immediately. I offer simple exercises to gain traction towards wholeness and self-acceptance. Transform into a place where you are fully unabashedly YOU. Heal relational disconnection through updating belief systems and " parts " work.
My Background and Approach
I was trained at SMITH SCHOOL FOR SOCIAL WORK- the oldest and one of most comprehensive clinical programs in the US. I have known a variety of specific settings which influenced my style: From pediatric clinics to residential rehab facilities to outpatient clinical settings. My approach has evolved into this style: Solution - Focused Psychotherapy with an Attachment and Mind-Body focus. I also incorporate a Narrative Approach, where clients are able to tell their Life story and influence or reframe themes, to reduce shame and gain deeper acceptance.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a humanist and feminist who believes in clients having choices. I believe therapy can better help people life lives of meaning. I support reproductive freedom, environmental protection, hunger eradication, and the flourishing of Arts in our world. I strongly believe Nature can help heal us if we are open to it. I believe that we can learn to connect back to our bodies and there are nourishing practices to help us do so. I believe parenthood is a choice, and women and men both can live full lives with or without childrearing. I believe in individual healing and creating stronger communities and networks.
