About My Clients

You’re having a hard time dealing. You're anxious, and you aren’t sleeping well. You believe your worth comes from being “perfect” and how much you do for others. You have a complicated relationship with things like food, alcohol, and anger. You want help coping and to understand yourself better and to stop feeling like you’re just surviving. You want better self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-compassion. You want to heal past traumas, abuses, and losses and to improve your relationships.

My Background and Approach

I have a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Texas Woman’s University and specialized training and experience in working with multiple types of traumatic experiences as well as disordered eating. I am trained in Brainspotting (BSP) as well as Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP), both of which I love utilizing where helpful with my clients. The SSP is a practical application of Polyvagal Theory (PVT), and I weave a lot of PVT into my work. I believe in truly attuning to my clients, listening to what their nervous system needs and working to help you better attune to your own needs as well. I help my clients befriend their own nervous system and their bodies, cultivating a greater body-mind connection. I do also utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as well as pulling from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I do my best to find the approach that best meets each individual's needs. I engage actively during sessions.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that we all have the innate ability to heal and that coregulation through safe and connected relationships helps facilitate this healing. I think social support and social connection are incredibly important and value being a social of both in our DFW community. I greatly value connection, growth, adventure, authenticity, and laughter. I try to take steps towards these values in both my personal and professional life. I have a passion for challenging diet culture in our society, promoting the principles of Intuitive Eating and Health at Every Size. I believe in befriending and learning to listen to self. In my time outside of the office, I most enjoy outdoor time with my dogs. I find nature and pets to be healing for my own nervous system!
