About My Clients
Abuse/neglect during youth often lead to emotional, behavioral, social, and relational problems in youth and in adulthood, including depression and anxiety. Many with childhood trauma have difficulties in relationships. Traumas can leave us feeling like we are always struggling, not trusting, never feeling at home in the world. My clinical focus is on tweens, teens & adults with PTSD, depression, & anxiety; as well as working w/ LGBTQIA teens and young adults.
My Background and Approach
I am a psychotherapist in private practice. I've worked in residential settings, foster care, and outpatient clinics. I'm trained in EMDR by EMDRIA , in TF-CBT, and the Attachment, Regulation & Competency (ARC) trauma framework for families and children. I completed a year-long course to earn a certificate in adoption competency from the Center for Adoption Support and Education. My approach is collaborative, relational, and strengths-based. In addition to my therapeutic experience, I have a 30+ yr history working with a wide range of religious communities and can assist with integrating spiritual practice and mental health. I am licensed in CT, MA and NM, accepting Medicaid, Anthem, BCBS, Cigna, MBHP, HNE, and sliding scale for self-pay.
