About My Clients
You deserve peace amid the stresses and challenges in this world. I help individuals discover the tools to help them make the choices that will allow them to live a healthy and abundant life. As a certified personal trainer, I offer sessions to clients looking to add on the beneficial effects of physical activity to help elevate their mood and quality of life as well. Some are struggling with grief and loss, and need support to find their path forward to reclaiming their joy.
My Background and Approach
After the passing of my mother/best friend in 2013, I realized a lack of emotional and mental health support in the Black Christian community. I was inspired by the memory of my mother’s voice to “Fill the Void”. My mission is to reduce the shame of being vulnerable and speaking our truths about our unseen pains and illnesses; to reduce the stigma associated with seeking professional help; and to change the language we use about all of it. I take on a person-centered approach that values the whole client, and I aim to provide professional services with an emphasis on safety, trust, genuineness, and respect. I also offer faith-based support, and challenge misconceptions about combining psychology and spirituality. I emphasize transparency and that it is okay not to be okay, but it is not okay to feel you have to go through painful experiences alone.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am most passionate about providing individuals a way to receive support after the death of a loved one beyond the funeral or homegoing service. Individuals looking for group support in their grief experience can register to join a low-cost program I lead for The Prophetic Church of Christ, called GriefShare. It is a Christ-centered, video-based ministry that helps individuals grieving the death of a family member or friend. This 13-week program is designed to reach people inside and outside the host church, even non-Christians.
