My Background and Approach
I enjoy working with a variety of approaches and we can discuss which ones might be most helpful and meaningful for you. In our work together, we may integrate approaches including CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, CBCST (Cognitive Behaviorally Centered Sex Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), The Gottman Method, Imago Relationship Therapy, Surrogate Partner Therapy, Sensate Focus, and more.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Most of us have been taught not to talk about sex and our bodies, and many of us have been taught to be ashamed of our bodies and what we think about, fantasize about, and do sexually. I believe that everyone is a sexual being, and that sexual expression is a healthy part of all of our lives. We’ll collaborate in a space that is safe, welcoming, supportive, and non-judgmental, where we will learn and grow together. I particularly enjoy collaborating with folks who are erotically marginalized. I approach my work with a sex-positive, strengths-based, trauma-informed, harm reduction, kink and poly-affirming, intersectional, anti-racist, feminist, LGBTQ friendly lens. You and your experiences are safe with me. I believe all human beings deserve to be treated with unconditional respect and dignity. No exceptions.
