About My Clients

Ever felt short of breath, or your heart racing without any physical exertion? Do you startle easily due to previous physical or emotional violence, or for no reason at all? These are just a few ways that the body speaks loudly about experiences that we can't always put words to. Somatic therapy can help you manage overwhelming emotions, and memories and sensations from traumatic events, and help you develop the agency to transform that unbridled life force into vitality.

My Background and Approach

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#131142) and currently provide telehealth to California residents, primarily via video call. I bring extensive experience in mental healthcare, trauma and resilience work, somatics, creative expression, and social justice. I began working in Community Mental Healthcare in 2000, and continued until 2020. In 2012, I began to add somatic psychotherapy to my work. I obtained a MA in Counseling Psychology from California Institute of Integral Studies, with a special focus in Somatic Psychotherapy. In 1999 I received a BA in Performing Arts from Prescott College, which continued into 20+ years (and growing) of experience in dance and movement practice and performance. Prescott College was my introduction to dance, movement, and somatics, under the tutelage of Delisa Myles. Those years continue to greatly inform my somatic lens in approaching therapy.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
