About My Clients
I am excited about helping my clients to reach their full potential. I have often wondered, "How much freer could each of us be if we learned to shed the weight of whatever is that is holding us back?" I think that is what counseling can be - a safe place to shed the weight, a safe place to heal, a safe place to improve, a safe place to self-actualize. Each of has its own unique challenges, but I think that counseling can be an effective tool in promoting positive change and growth.
My Background and Approach
I specialize in depression, anxiety, relationship issues, work stress, self-esteem issues, LGBTQ issues, phobias, trauma, ADHD, bipolar, and identity issues. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as my main theoretical approach which I couple with compassion and unconditional positive regard in my sessions. I have been in private practice for several years. In addition to that, I have worked across various setting including public schools and hospitals, which has afforded me the opportunity to understand my clients' issues in deeper, more comprehensive ways.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I know that taking the first step can be scary. But I'll meet you with kindness, acceptance, and understanding. Let's work together.
