About My Clients
I have a particular interest in working with adults struggling with anxiety, depression, addiction, loss, role transitions, romantic and interpersonal relationship difficulties, and family of origin issues. I also have specialized experience working with individuals diagnosed with Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
My Background and Approach
In my practice, I work with individuals to create meaning from difficult experiences and to develop coping strategies that allow them to live with a greater sense of peace, personal power, and authenticity. My therapeutic approach is relational and collaborative in nature. That is, I view the therapist-client relationship as just that- a relationship. Within this relationship, I seek to create an atmosphere of warmth, trust, genuineness, respect, and humor. While I hope to offer a new and helpful perspective, I will always honor you as the expert on your life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in individual psychotherapy, psychological assessment, and supervision. I received my doctorate in clinical psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, Illinois, and completed my pre-doctoral internship at Brigham Young University’s Counseling and Psychological Services in Provo, Utah. I then moved on to complete my post-doctoral residency at the Miami Veteran’s Affairs Healthcare System, where I provided individual and group therapy, treatment planning, and supervision within the Substance Abuse Recovery and Rehabilitation Track and the Psychosocial Recovery and Rehabilitation Clinic.
