About My Clients

some common reasons people contact me: Chronic Worrying: I help women with anxiety symptoms put a stop to cycles of worrying, panic, and over thinking. Recovery from Depression, Grief, and Trauma: Sometimes the onset of depression, loss of a loved one, or traumatic event can get in the way of being the best possible version of you. Exhausted Moms: You’re so busy taking care of everyone around you there’s no time or energy left for you.

My Background and Approach

Imagine the ability to be present with the people you love and the confidence to live the life you always pictured. I have helped my clients achieve this, and you can too. I use several evidence-based approaches in my therapy sessions, none of which involve passive head nodding or asking “how does that make you feel?” over and over again. Some of the most common approaches I use are: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy – inspecting and challenging thoughts in order to change feelings and behaviors that flow out of them Dialectical Behavior Therapy – learning skills to manage painful emotions and decrease conflict in relationships. Focus is on four key areas: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation and interpersonal effectiveness Mindfulness-Based Interventions – focusing your attention on the present experience in a way that is non-judgmental, accepting of the present moment as it is and not focused on the past or future Person-Centered Therapy – non-judgmental, empathic approach

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

As a first generation Houstonian and Latina, I know what it feels like to not be able to check a box and meet societal labels. I use a multi-cultural sensitive approach offering compassion and respect no matter who you are or where you are on your journey. In our sessions together you can expect your story to be heard. You will feel validated when appropriate, and given tools to do better when you feel like you could’ve showed up in a more effective way. You can expect to laugh a lot and cry when you need to do that too. If anger comes up, great! That means we’re up to something big. Most importantly, I want you to feel better. If I can’t help you with that, I will do my best to connect you with someone who can. If you are not sure if I can help, send me an email, I’d love to talk: [email protected].
