About My Clients

Has something terrible happened leaving your world forever changed due to traumatic loss or other trauma? I know what it's like to feel alone in this, no one understands, and family and friends want to fix an unfixable situation. My training and life experiences have led to my passion for joining folx on their unique journey due to grief or trauma; whether recent or years ago. You don't have to go it alone. I offer a safe, inclusive practice to heal and journey together.

My Background and Approach

I help clients by offering a combination of Trauma-Informed traditional talk therapy, art therapy, and nature-based therapy. Engaging our bodies and brains in different ways helps process and manage stress, and provides different forms of emotional connection and expression. Sometimes words alone aren’t enough or aren’t available to us. Talking primarily relies on the executive functioning part of our brain (focus, logic, planning, following directions, managing emotions and impulses) - which can be altered by trauma and grief. I hold a Master’s Degree in Art Therapy & Counseling. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in CT and a Registered Art Therapist (ATR). I have specialized training in grief, complicated grief, and trauma – I’m a Compassionate Bereavement Care (CBC) certified counselor as well as a Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT) clinician. I not only rely on my credentials and science, but also use my own lived experience.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that everyone has the capacity to heal. I don't believe there's a certain window of time for engaging in therapy or right way to grieve or feel after trauma. We don't ask for something terrible to happen, but none the less the healing is our responsibility. What matters is being willing to show up regardless. I know what it’s like for life to change in an instant – I have a special place in my heart for those who know this pain and why I believe in doing this work. And I have not only witnessed the healing power of art making and nature for clients, but use it myself. I purposefully aim to create a safe space by providing equity and inclusion through anti-discrimination, equal access to mental healthcare, promoting anti-racism, LGBTQ affirming, empowering body positivity, supporting spiritual equity, and engaging in anti-ageist practices. I am committed to continually doing my own work. Reach out - I’m here to help! Start by requesting a complimentary consultation with me.
