About My Clients

I help women who are successful in their careers but not in their relationships. They are interested in understanding themselves at a deeper level and know that a quick fix is not the answer. Many of them have been to therapy before but felt like it didn't help. They are looking for a therapist who is warm yet direct, and will take the time to understand them and support them on their exploration. Members of the LGBTQQ++ communities and therapists seeking their own therapy are warmly welcomed.

My Background and Approach

I am an engaged, collaborative, and non-judgmental therapist. I draw from a number of theoretical influences, including attachment, existential, psychodynamic, neuropsychology, and relational psychoanalysis; however, my focus is on what is going on for you now and on what might be happening between us in the work we are doing together. My approach incorporates looking at your past experiences and understanding how they relate to who you are today and how this impacts the places where you are stuck. My work is enriched and informed by many years of working for small and large companies. My training includes completion of a three-year post-graduate training program in psychodynamic psychotherapy and I continue my education as a member of many professional organizations, through participation in on-going study groups and classes, and by supervising pre-licensed clinicians. I am licensed in CA, CO, IL and I am a FL Registered Telehealth Provider.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Change and adversity may be inevitable, but how we deal with the challenges life presents is often up to us. You probably have some great tools that you used to survive some of the difficult situations you encountered when you were a child, but as an adult, these tools are no longer doing their job. Taking a closer look at not just what you do in your daily life and in your relationships, but also where and why you learned to do whatever it is you are doing, can open the door to insight, wisdom, and healthier ways of handling situations that may now feel overwhelming. I don't follow a specific formula but prefer to draw from many helpful approaches. Whatever comes up in therapy is important and can lead to change, whether or not this is obvious in the moment. I welcome people who are coming to therapy to take a closer look at themselves: therapy is about growth and learning about ourselves and having a specific, defined problem is not required to benefit from it.
