About My Clients
You feel stuck in this cycle of worry and negative thoughts. You’re tired of feeling stressed, overthinking things, or always fearing the worst case scenario. It might be starting to affect your relationships with others but especially how you feel about yourself. We can find your calm!
My Background and Approach
My approach is to create a safe, welcoming environment where you feel truly heard and accepted for who you are. I will help you understand your current challenges and see them from a different perspective, collaborating with you on ideas for changing what's not working in your life. I integrate different ways of thinking and viewing situations, keeping in mind not only your relationship with yourself but your relationship with others. I use the techniques of mindfulness, self-compassion, self-acceptance, and emotion regulation to help you reach your goals. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy, which is typically used to alleviate distress associated with trauma but also can be helpful to relieve other disturbances in your life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe people have the capacity for change and I believe in human resiliency. I think sometimes people get stuck in old patterns of behavior. When we are distressed, we go into autopilot mode and revert back to limited ways of thinking, feeling, or functioning. We fight, fly, freeze, or fawn. With an outside perspective and someone to teach you skills, you can pull yourself out of that stuck place. I have been there myself and I want to help. Please contact me to see if we are a good fit!
