About My Clients
Have you been dealing with anxiety lately? Or perhaps you've noticed you haven't felt like yourself and you're not sure how that feeling occurred in the first place? I've been there, dealing with anxiety or other unpleasant feelings is never a fun thing, and although some of these feelings are things we have to deal with throughout life, that doesn't mean these feelings should control us. Together, we can set goals to overcome/manage the obstacles that these issues bring.
My Background and Approach
My main orientations for counseling consist of narrative therapy, person-centered therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). With narrative therapy, I aim to separate the individual from the problem, allowing said individual to externalize the issue rather than internalize. With person-centered therapy, I aim to encourage personal growth in our sessions. With CBT, I aim to encourage changing the way an individual thinks about things, challenging and suggesting different perspectives. By the end of our time in therapy together, my hope is to supply you with a variety of tools and techniques for your "toolbox" to use in your day-to-day life!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that each person is an expert in their own story, and that each individual has their own unique set of triumphs and roadblocks. I personally feel that my job is to promote a welcoming and safe space for each person to freely express what's on their mind, while also advocating for personal growth!
