About My Clients
As a young professional you may experience so many pressures coming from many directions. Pressures from a new career, or from your close relationships or maybe even pressures from your own family. But now you're realizing that these pressures are affecting you in a deep way. You notice that your health is also being affected. You are experiencing problems with high anxiety, depressed mood, irritability or even sleep. And you 're also noticing that your passion for life is dwindling.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (practicing since 2002), but you might also call me a “mental health wellness coach”. My calling consists of providing counseling and therapy to Austin area young professionals who may be feeling too overwhelmed or too stressed out to move forward. I approach my sessions without any preconceived notions about what I believe is best for my clients. Instead, I strive to provide a compassionate and safe environment as my clients and I work collaboratively to address their goals and needs. My approach is client-centered and I truly welcome a collaborative approach and encourage feedback and ongoing dialogue with my clients. One of the main reasons I really enjoy my work is because I love establishing genuine therapeutic, supportive, and empowering relationships with my clients. I honestly cannot see myself doing any other kind of work.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I would like to share with you that I know from 18+ fulfilling years of working as a therapist that human beings already possess within themselves an incredible innate ability and resolve to overcome and push through all types of unbelievable psychological and emotional barriers. In fact, I believe that you as a self-motivated resilient type of individual you probably already possess within you the most appropriate and necessary internal resources that you need to overcome any obstacle that crosses your path. All I do is provide you with a completely confidential, safe, and judgement free environment so that you can safely process your thoughts and feelings about the adversity that you are facing. Then, together we explore and identify the right mental tools that you need to overcome those challenges or adversities that you may be facing.
